"Nocturne au Parc Royal de Bruxelles"

William Degouve de Nuncques, 1897.

On account of this being a pastel, I believe I remember the room that it was (is?) in in the Musée d'Orsay being kept at quite a low light.  Each individual picture was lit, but the room itself is fairly dim.  The little orbs of light in this painting absolutely shone.  So pretty.  (And related: is that true? Would the room be kept a bit darker for the pastels? Am I mixing up two rooms in d'Orsay?)

(Oh, and hello!  This is a scheduled post, since I'm in Europe right now.  Goedemorgen, from Amsterdam!
